Full Moon in Taurus: The Death of Illusion & the Rebirth of TRUE Love

Hello Beautiful Souls,

How are we doing…. how is your heart? How are you navigating these intense cosmic currents? Have you been feeling the emotional waves, the unexpected revelations, the old wounds rising to the surface? Perhaps you’ve found yourself in difficult conversations, confronting uncomfortable truths, or witnessing patterns you thought you had long since healed. If so, know this is one of the most Venus rx cycles of our lifetime as it is in Scorpio and closing out a 100 year cycle.

We have just entered Scorpio season, the sacred season of death, rebirth, and transformation. And what an extraordinary threshold we are crossing!

We have been journeying through some profoundly transformative territory with Venus retrograde in Scorpio, descending into the underworld of our hearts, facing our shadows, and peeling back the layers of illusion that have kept us separated from our deepest truth. Not just for ourselves – but for the entirety of humanity.

And now, just two days after Venus met the Sun in her sacred Cazimi, we arrive at a powerful culmination point: the Full Moon in Taurus, exact October 25 at 11:12 PM Central Time.

This is a historic Full Moon. It arrives on the heels of Venus’s symbolic death and rebirth, with Mercury having just stationed retrograde in Scorpio, and Pluto forming a powerful square to the Sun and Moon.

Adding another profound layer, Venus has just retrograded back into Libra, reaching 29 degrees, the final degree of the zodiac sign, known in astrology as the anaretic or critical degree, sometimes called the “degree of death.” This is not literal death, but the symbolic completion of a cycle, a threshold where old patterns are reaching their final reckoning before something new can emerge.

And with Venus, Goddess of Love, standing at this threshold, we are being asked to examine what must die within our understanding of love so that something more authentic can be born.

What has been stirring in the darkness is now asking to be brought into the light.

Full Moons illuminate. They bring to consciousness what has been hidden, inviting us to see more clearly what is ready to be acknowledged, integrated, or released.

And this particular Full Moon carries the weight of everything Venus has been asking us to examine since beginning her retrograde journey on October 3.

Our relationships. Our attachments. Our wounds around love, trust, intimacy, and worthiness. The ways we abandon ourselves to maintain connection, or attempt to control others and circumstances because we are afraid of losing what we love.

With the Moon in earthy Taurus opposing the Sun in Scorpio, we stand between two powerful archetypal forces.

Taurus, the Earth Mother, asks us to remember our inherent worth, to return to our bodies, and to cultivate the peace and security that come from within.

Scorpio, the keeper of the underworld, asks us to surrender our illusions, confront our fears, and release what we can no longer carry into the next chapter of our becoming.

And with Pluto squaring this Full Moon, the invitation becomes even more profound. We may be confronted with the very places where fear, attachment, and the need for control have been masquerading as love.

Perhaps one of the greatest revelations of this Venus retrograde journey is recognizing where we have mistaken suffering for love, loyalty for self-sacrifice, or the endurance of toxic dynamics for spiritual devotion.

There comes a moment when our soul simply says, enough.

Enough abandoning ourselves to keep the peace. Enough excusing manipulation, disrespect, or abuse in the name of unconditional love. Enough believing that loving someone means accepting behavior that continually wounds us.

Unconditional love does not mean unconditional tolerance. Compassion does not require self-betrayal. And forgiveness does not obligate us to remain where we are being harmed.

This Taurus Full Moon calls us back into the sacred ground of our own worth, reminding us that sometimes the most profound act of love is having the courage to say no more.

And yet, this journey also asks us to look courageously within. Can we acknowledge our own wounds without projecting them onto others? Can we take responsibility for our patterns without taking responsibility for someone else’s harmful behavior? Can we speak difficult truths with both honesty and compassion?

This is the sacred work of reclaiming our power.

On October 23, Venus united with the Sun in Scorpio, marking the sacred midpoint of her retrograde journey. Mythologically, this is the moment of illumination deep within the underworld, when the Goddess encounters the light at the very heart of darkness.

Now Venus has returned to Libra, her own sign, inviting us to begin restoring balance, harmony, and integrity in our relationships. But we are not finished with this journey. Venus remains retrograde until November 13, and Mercury’s retrograde in Scorpio continues to draw our attention toward the truths still waiting to be spoken and understood.

The Full Moon offers us a moment of revelation, not necessarily a final resolution.

Perhaps what we are being asked to release is not always a person or a relationship, but an old way of loving. An attachment to an outcome. A story of unworthiness. The fairy tale we have woven around someone, or the illusion of what we hoped love could become, rather than seeing what is actually before us. The belief that if we just love deeply enough, sacrifice enough, or wait long enough, the story will somehow transform into the happily-ever-after we have imagined. And perhaps, most importantly, the belief that our safety, happiness, and worth depend on something or someone outside ourselves.

And sometimes, what must be released is a relationship or circumstance that no longer honors our well-being.

As I write these words, I am nestled in the Ozark Mountains, surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of autumn. Everywhere I look, the trees are surrendering their leaves in brilliant shades of gold, amber, and crimson. And while hiking on the very first day of Scorpio season, I encountered a powerful snake along my path. Nothing is random. Here, surrounded by the beauty of nature’s cycles, the symbolism feels especially profound. The snake, shedding its skin, is an ancient symbol of transformation, death, and rebirth, while the falling leaves remind us that surrender is woven into the very fabric of life.

The trees do not cling to their leaves or resist the changing seasons. They trust the wisdom of letting go, knowing that what appears to be an ending is also preparing the way for new life.

Nature is reminding me that death is not something to fear, but a sacred and necessary part of the cycle of life.

We, too, are nature. We, too, can trust the cycles of death and rebirth unfolding within us.

Not everything that falls away is a loss. Sometimes it is simply life making room for what is waiting to bloom that is wildly more profound and beautiful that we can imagine so long as we cling to the past….

As you stand beneath this luminous Taurus Moon, I invite you to slow down. Feel your feet upon the Earth. Place your hands upon your heart. Listen to the wisdom of your body.

You do not need to force the answers. But you may need the courage to receive them.

And remember, beautiful souls, the purpose of our descent into the darkness was never to remain there. It was to retrieve the parts of ourselves we had forgotten, reclaim the love we had given away, and return to the light more whole than before.

Perhaps true security is not found in holding on, but in knowing that whatever changes, whatever falls away, we have the strength and the love within us to begin again.

May this Full Moon illuminate what is ready to be healed, bless what is ready to be released, and remind you of the beautiful, unshakable worth that has always lived within you.
