How is everyone doing out there? We are only one week into Venus retrograde, and the intensity is already palpable! Have you been feeling the emotional undercurrents rising? Old wounds resurfacing? Venus began her retrograde journey on October 3 in the deep waters of Scorpio, initiating her symbolic 40-day descent into the Underworld. And right in the midst of this descent, the cosmos offers us a New Moon. On October 10, the Sun and Moon unite at approximately 17° Libra, opening a new lunar cycle and inviting us to plant the seeds of a radically different way of being. But this is no ordinary New Moon.
The Sacred Mirror: When Harmony Is No Longer Enough
Libra is the archetype of balance, harmony, justice, beauty, and the sacred dance between self and other. But with Libra’s ruling planet, Venus, retrograde in Scorpio, we are being asked to look much deeper. What if the harmony we have worked so hard to maintain was never truly harmonious at all?
How often have we confused peace with avoidance? Compromise with self-abandonment? Connection with the need to be accepted or approved of? The Sacred Mirror of Libra reflects not only the beauty of our connections but also the places where we have abandoned our authenticity to preserve them.

Venus in Scorpio is descending inward, uncovering the deeper truth of our desires, while Mars in Leo wants to express, create, and boldly declare its presence in the world.
This tension may manifest as frustration, emotional volatility, creative restlessness, or an inability to continue suppressing what we genuinely feel. But there is tremendous creative potential within this friction. Mars in Leo reminds us that our unique expression is not something to apologize for, while Venus in Scorpio asks us to ensure that what we create is born from our soul’s truth rather than our conditioning. There is another layer of symbolism surrounding this New Moon, arriving on the numerologically significant date of 10/10. In numerology, ten represents both completion and initiation. The end of one cycle contains the seed of the next, and how fitting that this symbolic portal coincides with a New Moon during Venus’s Underworld journey.
We are being asked to plant new seeds before we have completed the process of releasing the old. Venus will not reach her inferior conjunction with the Sun until October 24, when she symbolically dies and is reborn within the solar fire. We are still in the descent, and we may not yet have the clarity to understand what our next chapter will look like. But a seed does not need to know what the fully grown tree will look like. It simply needs the right conditions in which to take root.
What Are We Being Invited to Birth?
This New Moon is not simply asking us to manifest another opportunity, relationship, or external achievement. It is inviting us to birth an entirely new foundation from which we create our lives. A foundation rooted in authentic harmony rather than false peace, relationships built upon mutual sovereignty rather than sacrifice, communities founded upon reciprocity rather than control, and creative expression born from the heart rather than the need for approval.
Jupiter in Leo offers a supportive influence, reminding us that joy, courage, creativity, and authentic self-expression are essential ingredients in the reality we are creating. We are not here merely to dismantle the old. We are here to remember our capacity to create something entirely new.

We are not planting seeds to recreate the world we have known. We are planting seeds for a world we are finally ready to embody.
The New Earth is not something we are waiting for. It is something we are birthing, one conscious choice at a time.
