Astrology for the Week of March 7
Many people right now are feeling a strange contradiction in the atmosphere. For months we have been talking about the arrival of the Year of the Fire Horse and the historic Saturn–Neptune ingress into Aries, both of which signal the beginning of a fiery, action-oriented cycle. These archetypes promise courage, ignition, and forward momentum. Yet instead of clarity and motivation, many people are experiencing the opposite – spaciness, fatigue, confusion, and a surreal sense that things are both accelerating and stalled at the same time.
On the world stage the tension is unmistakable. Conflicts are intensifying, uncertainty is rising, and volatility continues to ripple across the collective field. Many people feel an urgency to move forward, yet when they attempt to act the energy feels diffuse or unclear.
If you are feeling this contradiction, you are not imagining it. The astrology explains it perfectly.
Still Moving Through the Waters
While the larger cycle of 2026 is igniting with fire energy, the sky is still dominated by Pisces, the final sign of the zodiac.
At the moment we have a strong Pisces concentration:
- Sun in Pisces
- Mars in Pisces
- Mercury retrograde in Pisces
- North Node in Pisces
Pisces represents the underworld phase of the yearly zodiac cycle. It dissolves boundaries, blurs timelines, and pulls consciousness inward toward reflection, dreaming, intuition, and emotional integration. This is the season of endings and preparation before the next cycle begins.
This is why the atmosphere can feel both heightened and hazy at the same time. The instinct to move forward is building, but the current landscape is still asking for surrender, rest, and deeper listening.
In many ways these final weeks before the equinox resemble the last stretch of winter underground, when life is quietly preparing beneath the soil before it breaks through the surface.
A Moment of Clarity – Mercury Cazimi
Today, March 7, we experience an important alignment within this Piscean fog: Mercury Cazimi.
This occurs when Mercury, currently retrograde, aligns exactly with the Sun. In traditional astrology this moment is described as Mercury being in the heart of the Sun.
A cazimi represents a brief window of illumination within the retrograde cycle.
While Mercury retrograde often brings confusion, miscommunication, or uncertainty, the cazimi can deliver sudden insights, realizations, or important information that helps us understand what is really unfolding beneath the surface.
Think of it as a flash of clarity within the mist. Something that previously felt unclear may suddenly make sense, or an intuitive knowing may rise to the surface. These moments often arrive through conversation, dreams, synchronicities, or an unexpected shift in perspective.
Venus Crosses the Threshold First
The first planet to step into the new Aries terrain was Venus, which entered Aries on March 5.
Venus often sets the emotional tone for how we experience larger planetary shifts. In Aries she becomes bold, direct, passionate, and instinctual. Relationships, desires, and personal values tend to surface quickly under this influence, and people feel less patient with stagnation and more willing to speak honestly about what they want.
However, Venus did not enter a clear field of fire. Instead, she immediately encountered Saturn and Neptune, both of which have recently crossed into Aries as well.
This creates a powerful symbolic moment at the doorway of a new era.
- Venus represents attraction, connection, love, and what the heart longs for
- Saturn represents reality, structure, responsibility, and consequences
- Neptune dissolves boundaries and draws us toward dreams, ideals, and spiritual vision
When Venus meets Saturn and Neptune at the threshold of Aries, it can feel like desire colliding with both reality and uncertainty at the same time. There is a longing for something new to begin, yet Saturn reminds us that real change requires maturity and structure, while Neptune blurs the edges of clarity.
This combination helps explain the strange emotional tone many people are feeling right now. The heart senses that something significant is beginning, but the path forward is not yet fully visible.
Jupiter Stations Direct
Another important shift arrives on March 10th when Jupiter stations direct in Cancer.
In astrology, Jupiter represents growth, expansion, wisdom, opportunity, and the larger meaning we assign to life’s experiences. It governs our belief systems, optimism, and the vision that helps us move forward into the future.
When Jupiter is retrograde, this expansive energy tends to turn inward. We often find ourselves reconsidering our direction, re-evaluating our beliefs, or reassessing where we want to grow.
Jupiter has been retrograde since late last year, encouraging reflection around security, emotional foundations, and the places we call home.
As Jupiter begins moving forward again, we often feel a gradual return of hope, confidence, and forward momentum.
In Cancer, Jupiter emphasizes themes such as:
- home and family stability
- emotional nourishment and protection
- belonging and roots
- strengthening the foundations that support our lives
Even while the outer world remains turbulent, this station encourages us to anchor into what truly sustains us and build growth from a place of emotional alignment.
The Aries Ignition Is Coming
The larger shift begins when the Sun enters Aries at the Spring Equinox on March 20, marking the true astrological new year.
Soon after, several additional planets will follow, dramatically changing the energetic landscape.
Key transitions ahead:
- March 20 – Sun enters Aries (Spring Equinox)
- March 20 – Mercury turns direct and enters Aries
- March 27 – Mars enters Aries
With Saturn and Neptune already in Aries and Venus having crossed the threshold earlier this month, these movements will create a powerful concentration of fire energy through late March and into April.
Aries represents courage, initiative, leadership, and the raw force of new beginnings. It is the archetype of the warrior, the pioneer, and the spark that begins a new cycle.
However, Aries also governs conflict, confrontation, and volatility. When so many planets gather here at once, the collective tempo often accelerates quickly.
The momentum that feels absent now may soon arrive all at once.
The Final Weeks of the Underworld
For now we are still moving through the closing chapter of the zodiacal year.
Pisces season invites us to:
- rest where rest is needed
- dream and visualize what is emerging
- release what is dissolving naturally
- listen more deeply to the intuitive voice within
Pisces is also the place of final release. It asks us to let go of patterns, distractions, and coping habits that keep us disconnected from our deeper truth. This can include places where we escape, numb out, or feel we have been operating in survival mode.
At its highest expression, Pisces teaches compassion. Compassion for the suffering we see in the world and compassion for ourselves wherever we feel we have struggled or fallen short.
It is also important to remember that we are still inside the eclipse portal, which means everything is naturally accelerated and amplified. Eclipses surface truths quickly and create powerful opportunities for realignment and evolution.
The fire is building. The spark has appeared. But the full flame has not yet caught.
Soon the Aries energy will surge forward and momentum will return quickly. For now we remain at the threshold between worlds, the final waters of winter preparing the ground for the fire of a new year.
